According to the Town’s website, this work was supposed to begin on September 2nd, and be completed by November 17th. According to one of the Town’s engineers, the work was supposed to begin around September 8th and be done by the first week in October.

Charity ride for breast cancer awareness
Trek Women is holding a Breast Cancer Awareness Ride on Saturday, October 9, at 10:00 A.M. There are going to be 10-mile and 25-mile casual rides, jumping off from Victorville Cycles at 12408 Hesperia Road in Victorville. The $25 entry fee all goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and each participant will receive a free gift. The first 100 to sign up even get a free lunch. Registration is on-line here.

Apple Valley to extend bike lanes on Dale Evans Parkway
We just heard about this, so details are a bit sketchy, but word is that the Town of Apple Valley is getting ready to repave Dale Evans Parkway between Waalew at the north and Otoe at the south, adding bike lanes at the same time. This long-needed improvement of “slaughter alley” will connect the existing bike paths on Waalew and Dale Evans south of Otoe. Furthermore, we hear that this will be completed Fall 2010.
